Hello, and welcome to 6th grade, Bimat Bulldogs! I'm so excited to be teaching, leading, developing and caring for you this year! I was born and raised in Bakersfield. I went to Beardsley, North High, Bakersfield College and graduated in 2005 from Cal State Bakersfield with my bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies. My dream has always been to be a teacher!
This is my 8th year as an elementary education teacher. Prior to that, I worked at 24 Hour Fitness for 21 years, as the District Manager covering a very large area of central California. I loved my career and especially the people I worked with, but continued to feel a desire to be an educator of "kiddos". I received my teaching credential from Point Loma Nazarene University in July 2015...and here I am; proud to be a Bulldog!
I've been married to my husband, Troy, for 24 years. He is a general contractor in Bakersfield. We have two FABULOUS kiddos, Tatum, a 19 year-old college student at Bakersfield College. Our son, Trey, is a 15 year-old, sophmore at Centennial High School (former Bulldog and Norris Knight). We have a little dog named TJ. I have a huge extended family in Bakersfield, as well. I am so grateful for my life, family, friends, and career! I can't wait to meet my new 6th grade kiddos and families.
