Project Information

Dear Parents or Guardians,

Our class will be studying Native Americans in Social Studies very soon. An inspiration for this project was our Core Literature book, Molly’s Pilgrim. Students will be bringing home a clothespin to dress like a Native American. At home please help your child dress his/her doll. Your doll can be a Native American girl or boy. Also be sure your child picks an authentic Native American name for their doll and has it visible on the doll (just make a little sign and pin it to the clothing). They may research the web for an authentic name. J

Thank you for helping your child with this project. For examples, please see my teacher website under “Native American Dolls.” We will be keeping the dolls until May Dinner to be put on display. Once again, please be sure your student includes an authentic Native American name! This project will be due Monday, November 18, 2019, and will count as a Social Studies grade. Have fun and thank you again for your support! We appreciate you! J

Sincerely,

Mrs. Shaw
