About Me

Welcome to my class!
My name is Debbie Porwoll and I have been teaching for 22 years, most of which has been in the Norris School District. I taught Kindergarten for 10 years and have been teaching Second Grade for 12 years. I attended Abilene Christian University and earned my Bachelors of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Later, I earned by teaching credential from Cal State Bakersfield. I am passionate about teaching and I am blessed to teach at Bimat! As for some personal fun facts, my husband and I have been married for 34 years, are the proud parents of 4  wonderful humans and have 5 precious grandchildren. In addition to teaching, I am a passionate volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's. Currently, I serve as the Walk's Event Chairman.

For daily class information, be sure to check your child's Bulldog Folder daily. Your child is to bring it to school every day. Your child's weekly conduct log will also be in this folder. Please make sure you sign each week.

Even though  the Buckaroo Bits Newsletter is sent home each week in your child's Homework Folder, you can also access it on this website. It will include information regarding each week's curriculum focus, spelling and vocabulary words, and important reminders.
Hint: You can subscribe to my newsletter and get notified when it has been published online!

I look forward to a fabulous year with you and your child!
