Shaw Sharks
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you and your family. My name is Denise Shaw, and I am honored to be your third-grade teacher working at this wonderful school. This is my 25th year of teaching and my 8th year here at Bimat Elementary. I taught in Delano for 4 years, and prior to that at Olive Drive Elementary for 13 years. I graduated high school from Garces Memorial High School, California State University Bakersfield in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a minor in Communications. I earned my teaching credential through the University of La Verne. I have my CLAD certificate, CTAP levels one and two, and completed one year of BTSA. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost twenty-six years, and we have two amazing sons. Jake, my oldest, is twenty and finishing up his last semester at Bakersfield College. He is in the process of completing college applications to see where he will continue his college education!!! So exciting!!!! Luke, my baby, is starting his first year at Bakersfield College and hoping to play baseball there. We also have a very special, fun, wild, and crazy berniedoodle names Goose who is 11 months old and weighs 85 pounds, a sweet kind hearted golden doodle named Nik who is already 12 and a half, and a desert tortoise named Thomas. I just couldn't be more excited to be your child's teacher!!! It is going to be a WONDERFUL year! I'm going to do my VERY best to make it fun, motivational, exciting, engaging, and one to always remember! Let's GO Shaw Sharks!!!
