Shaw Sharks
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself to you and your family. My name is Denise Shaw, and I am honored to be your third-grade teacher working at this wonderful school. This is my 27th year of teaching and my 10th year here at Bimat Elementary. I taught in Delano for 4 years, and prior to that, I taught at Olive Drive Elementary for 13 years. I graduated high school from Garces Memorial High School, California State University Bakersfield in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a minor in Communications. I earned my teaching credential through the University of La Verne. I have my CLAD certificate, CTAP levels one and two, and completed one year of BTSA. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost twenty-eight years, and we have two amazing sons. Jake, my oldest, is twenty-two and just got hired to work at ASU, a commercial real estate company here in town. Luke, my baby, is playing baseball for Bakersfield College and hoping to continue his baseball career elsewhere after his time at Bakersfield College. He is getting his degree in business with a sports medicine certificate. We also have a very wild, spunky, crazy, but fun lovin berniedoodle named Goose! He is almost 3 years old and weighs 85 pounds, and a desert tortoise named Thomas. I just couldn't be more excited to be your child's teacher!!! It is going to be a WONDERFUL year! I'm going to do my VERY best to make it fun, motivational, exciting, engaging, and one to always remember! Let's GO Shaw Sharks!!!
