Rules, Consequences, and Rewards

Behavior Policy

The rules, consequences, and rewards are listed below for student behavior.

Rules

  1. Raise your hand to speak.
  2. Remain seated until given permission to get up.
  3. Listen when others are speaking.
  4. Follow directions quickly and quietly.
  5. Keep hands, feet, body, and objects to yourself.
  6. Be prepared for class.

Rewards

Students can earn group points each week.  At the end of the week, the group with the highest points can earn a homework pass or an item from the treasure box, depending on what is offered at that time.  The whole class can also try to fill the class donut box with paper donuts when the whole class is caught being good together.  I will bring donuts for the class when the box is full.  Group points and “donuts” are given when positive, on-task behavior is observed. PAWS tickets can be earned for good behavior and redeemed for prizes.  We are also in the process of adopting a district wide program called Kickboard that is very similar to Class Dojo where students earn positive and negative points.  I will let you know as we transition to this system.

Consequences

  1. 1st infraction- 5 minutes lost of recess
  2. 2nd infraction- 10 minutes lost of recess
  3. 3rd infraction- whole recess lost and Refocus Form filled out- must be signed by parent
  4. 4th infraction- referral to office
