Welcome to Second Grade!

Hi there! My name is Kaeli Velasco, and I am absolutely thrilled to be your child’s second grade teacher this year!

I grew up right here in Bakersfield, California. I’m proud to be a graduate of Cal State Bakersfield, where I earned my degree and began my journey into the world of education. I’m also happily married to my wonderful husband, Eddie Velasco, and we share our home with our three very spoiled fur babies our two cats, Mochi and Momo, and our dog, Spyro. They definitely keep life interesting!

Teaching is truly my passion, and I consider it a privilege to play such an important role in your child’s academic and personal growth. I strive to create a warm, welcoming classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. My classroom is a place where every child’s voice is heard, where creativity is celebrated, and where kindness is at the heart of everything we do.

One of the things I value most as an educator is building strong relationships, not only with students, but also with families. Open and honest communication is important to me, and I am always here to partner with you in supporting your child’s success. I believe in nurturing the whole child, and I work hard to understand each student’s individual needs, learning style, and personality. If something isn’t working, I’m quick to adapt and try a new approach because every child deserves the best opportunity to thrive.

I bring a positive and energetic spirit to the classroom, and I truly love watching students discover new things, challenge themselves, and grow in confidence. My goal is to make this year both academically rewarding and incredibly fun! Whether we’re exploring new math strategies, diving into a great book, or creating something magical during art time, I want each student to feel proud of their progress and excited about their learning.
